These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of residential and commercial moving services by Unir Distâncias

By using our services, the customer agrees to the following terms and conditions

Duration of Services

All services have a mandatory minimum of 3 hours, with the amount charged on an hourly basis. Half-hour charges are not applied.

Fees and Taxes

The agreed and advertised amounts are subject to the addition of VAT at the legal rate in force.

Quotes

Quotes are based on estimates and may be subject to changes that result in an increase/decrease in the service time provided.

Delays and Unusual Situations

Scheduled times may be delayed due to unusual situations such as accidents, breakdowns, traffic, etc.

Parking and Tolls

The responsibility for paying the parking fees related to our vehicles during the service lies with the customer. Tolls related to travel to the location and during the service will be charged to the customer.

Travel Charge

All moves may include an additional charge equivalent to 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours to cover travel time to and/or from the customer's address, depending on the distance between the company's vehicle departure point and the service location.

Mileage Calculation

Depending on the type of move, a per-kilometre charge may apply to cover travel and fuel costs. This calculation is based on the vehicle's departure point and includes the total distance travelled, both outbound and return journeys.

The hourly rate is always charged in addition to the per-kilometre rate.

Vehicle Sizes

All vehicles in our fleet are light commercial vehicles with a 24 m³ load capacity. We do not operate heavy goods vehicles.

Cancellation Fee

If the customer cancels the service within 24 hours of the scheduled moving date, a cancellation fee of €250.00 plus VAT will apply.

Furniture Protection

Responsibility for any damage occurring during the moving process rests entirely with the customer if they choose not to use the recommended packing and protective materials.

Handling Insurance

Unir Distâncias does not have handling insurance. It is recommended that the customer takes out insurance if deemed necessary.

Hourly Rate Increase

On weekdays and Saturdays, an additional charge of €25.00 per hour, per vehicle, applies from 5:00 p.m. onwards. On Sundays and public holidays, an additional charge of €25.00 per hour, per vehicle, applies from 1:00 p.m. onwards.

Payment

The amount due for the service must be paid as follows: 50% once the loading process has been completed and the remaining 50% before the customer's belongings are unloaded. Payment may be made in cash, by card payment (POS terminal), or by immediate bank transfer to the IBAN provided by the Company.

Advance payment may be required depending on the specific requirements and circumstances of the move.
